# Get agent card

> Read the connected agent's masked card and source.

Call `get_agent_card` without arguments. The result includes `agent_id`, `agent_name`, `mode`, `currency`, and `card` metadata: `id`, `status`, `last4`, `source`, `provider`, `kind`, and `usable_for_checkout`.

For an external card, `mode` and `source` are `external`, `provider` is `evervault`, and card metadata also includes `label`, `bank_name`, and `brand`. `monthly_limit_cents`, `remaining_monthly_limit_cents`, and `per_purchase_limit_cents` are all `null`: no bank limits or remaining funds are known. `transfer_limits_enforced` is `false` and `limits_enforced_by` is `issuing_bank`.

For an external card, `usable_for_checkout` is `false` while checkout configuration or Browser Tokens preview approval is missing, even when the card is linked. A `true` value reports configured checkout readiness, not verified merchant compatibility.

For a simulation card, the source/provider are `simulation`, currency is EUR, and limits describe test spending only. `usable_for_checkout` is `false`; no live Transfer-issued cards are enabled.

No owner wallet ID, name, balance, wallet-derived available-to-spend amount, or payment credentials are returned. This read remains available when new payment access is disabled. Metadata is not proof that provider setup or merchant checkout has been verified.
