# Introduction

> Transfer is the spending platform for AI agents.

To get started with Transfer, you’ll need:

1. Your own [Transfer account](https://jointransfer.com/login?mode=signup)
2. An agent with a [private access key](/guides/access-keys)

Then, you’ll be ready to explore both ways to connect:

* **MCP tools**: check budgets, read transactions, and simulate purchases from your agent.
* **REST API**: read wallet balances and agent spending limits from your application.

Transfer currently runs in simulation mode. Balances are test money and purchases do not move real funds.
