# Inspect and use your assigned card

> Read card metadata and understand the protected checkout flow.

Connect the agent using its private Transfer key. The key selects its assigned card; tool arguments cannot choose another card or wallet.

1. Call `get_agent_card` to inspect masked metadata, card status, and source. For an external card, bank limits and remaining balance are unknown and the monetary limit fields are `null`.
2. If external access is enabled, checkout configuration is ready, and Browser Tokens preview access is approved, call `get_payment_card`. Use its short-lived token only through the returned proxy in a compatible browser with Evervault CA trust.
3. The owner may need to enter CVC directly at the merchant or complete bank authentication. Retrieving access does not itself make a payment.

A card can be securely linked before checkout approval. In that state `usable_for_checkout` is `false`, and payment access is unavailable while metadata remains readable. A `true` readiness value does not prove merchant compatibility.

External transaction history is an empty list with a no-bank-feed message. Do not interpret token creation as evidence of a charge, settlement, or a Transfer wallet debit.

Simulation-mode cards return deliberately invalid dummy details and cannot be used for checkout. Transfer-issued live cards and wallet funding are **coming soon**.
