# Authentication

> Authenticate with a private agent access key.

Send your agent key in the Authorization header:

```http theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"vesper"}}
Authorization: Bearer tr_agent_YOUR_PRIVATE_KEY
```

Replace the placeholder with the complete key from your dashboard. See [Access keys](/guides/access-keys) to generate one. The placeholder above is not a valid credential.

Use HTTPS and keep keys on trusted servers or in private MCP client settings. Do not expose them in frontend bundles, URLs, analytics, or logs.

A key grants access to exactly one agent and its linked wallet. Cross-origin browser requests are rejected; call from a trusted backend or MCP client. This API does not use dashboard session cookies as agent credentials.
